The paper works perfectly with watercolour and gouache paints, among others. For best results with watercolour paints, we recommend using watercolour paints with metallic or pearlescent pigments (which create dramatic colour contrasts on the black paper). You can also use classic watercolours, mixing the white paint with the other colours from the palette. The colours will then look like pastel colours on the black paper.
In addition to watercolours and gouache paints, the paper also works very well with acrylic paints and crayons such as dry pastels, soft oil pastels and wax crayons, making it extra versatile for different artistic techniques. Light colours in particular stand out strongly against the black background. Regardless of technique, it is important to use paint with a high pigment content for the best colour reproduction.
