Frequently Asked Questions

May I use water or other tools?
Yes, you may use water as long as it is colourless. The same applies to tools, provided they do not leave marks or affect the pigment in the pens, such as a ruler, brush, eraser, knife, blending stump, glue, etc. It is permitted to use water, masking fluid, alcohol or other colourless solvents. 


May I sketch with a graphite pencil?
You may only sketch using the pens included in your competition kit. No other pens or pencils may be used. Tip! There is an erasable pen included in your kit. 


May I swap pens between two different competition kits?
You may not swap or mix pens between different competition kits. Each kit contains randomly selected colours. The challenge is to create a piece based on the colours you have received. 


May I share my entry on social media before the competition has ended?
Absolutely! It is your artwork, so you are free to share it on social media both during and after the competition. Don’t forget the hashtag #PenStoreTalents2026 so other participants can find your work. 


How many entries may I submit?
Only one competition entry per person and email address. 


May I receive a new sheet/surface?
Each competition kit contains one sheet, and we are unable to provide additional sheets. This limitation is part of the challenge. 

May I create a collage or cut/alter the surface?
You may only use the products included in your kit and you may not manipulate the surface in any way.


Can you check whether my artwork follows the rules? 
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an individual assessment of whether your artwork complies with the competition terms. Each participant is responsible for ensuring that the competition rules are followed.
