Soft Pastel is Schmincke’s professional range of high-quality soft pastels, developed for artists who demand outstanding colour intensity, lightfastness and handling. Made in Germany using a very high proportion of artists’ pigments and a minimal amount of binder, the pastels deliver rich colour saturation, velvety transitions and an exceptionally soft application.
The extensive colour selection spans bright hues, earth tones, greys and dark shades, with multiple tonal values within each colour family. This provides excellent opportunities to create subtle transitions, precise colour variations and depth within a composition without extensive colour mixing.
The pastels are organised by colour in two removable trays housed within the dark-stained wooden box. The thoughtful presentation provides a clear overview of the colours and makes it easy to work directly from the box.
