Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique in which cracked ceramics are repaired with gold, while the cracks remain visible and become part of the object's character and history.
The pen features a brass body with a shimmering pearl-blue lacquer finish and sweeping gold-coloured lines reminiscent of the distinctive repairs associated with kintsugi. The pattern varies from one pen to another, making each piece unique. Gold-coloured details complement the deep blue finish.
Like the other models in the Pilot Capless series, first introduced in 1963, the Golden Journey combines the writing experience of a fountain pen with a practical retractable mechanism. With a simple click, the nib extends and retracts into the pen body when not in use.
The pen is fitted with an 18K gold nib and is available in Fine and Medium nib widths. It can be used with Pilot ink cartridges or bottled ink using the included CON-40 converter.
Made in Japan, the Golden Journey is presented in a special gift box featuring a kintsugi-inspired design, together with a CON-40 converter and ink cartridge.
