Faber-Castell Polychromos

Faber-Castell Polychromos are professional oil-based coloured pencils of the highest artistic quality, manufactured in Germany since 1908. For over a century, artists around the world have relied on them for their dependable performance and ability to produce brilliant colours in both detailed illustrations and large-scale artworks. The colours are acid-free and contain high-quality pigments, providing outstanding lightfastness that preserves colour intensity for decades, as well as resistance to smudging and water.

With their smooth 3.8 mm leads, Polychromos glide evenly over all kinds of paper and various surfaces such as card, wood, and leather. Faber-Castell’s patented SV bonding protects the leads from breaking under pressure or when dropped. The name Polychromos, derived from the Greek for “many colours,” reflects the range of 120 shades that allow endless colour combinations. Thanks to a unified colour system, the pencils can easily be combined with other Faber-Castell products such as watercolour pencils and artist pens.
