The Faber-Castell Polychromos 140-set brings together the complete new Polychromos palette in one set. The range has been expanded from 120 to 140 colours with 20 completely new shades – the first expansion of the colour palette in 25 years. This provides an even broader colour spectrum and more possibilities for working with nuances, colour blends and fine details.

Polychromos are professional oil-based coloured pencils with a high pigment concentration and excellent lightfastness. The acid-free pigments produce clear, intense colours that are water-resistant and smudge-proof.

The soft yet durable lead provides smooth, even colour application and can be sharpened to a fine point for precise details. The colours can be blended and built up in multiple layers to create smooth transitions, shading and intense areas of colour. The pencils are suitable for everything from illustration and portraiture to botanical subjects and detailed drawings.

The pencils feature a 3.8 mm lead that is bonded along the entire length of the wooden barrel using Faber-Castell's SV bonding process. This makes the lead particularly resistant to breakage during use and sharpening. The wood comes from sustainable forestry and the pencils are finished with water-based lacquer.

All 140 colours are presented together in a metal tin.
