Dekorima
Dekorima is a Swedish artists’ materials brand with a history dating back to 1970. The brand was registered by the art supply shop AB Wilh. Beckers, which had opened in Stockholm as early as 1940. Dekorima eventually became the new name of the art supply shop and, for several decades, was associated with artists’ materials and creativity in Stockholm.
In February 1986, the name Dekorima became known far beyond artistic circles. Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme was shot and killed outside the shop on Sveavägen, and for many Swedes this historic event remains the first association with the name Dekorima. The shop came under new ownership in 1992 and was then renamed Kreatima. In 2010, as the business celebrated its 70th anniversary, it moved from Sveavägen to Kungsgatan.
Today, Dekorima continues as a Pen Store brand, carrying its long tradition of artists’ materials forward in a new form. The range consists of carefully selected products for drawing, illustration and painting, with a focus on practical materials at good prices.
Paper and artists’ pads are a central part of the Dekorima range. These include mixed media pads for combining different techniques, marker pads designed for working with markers and Bristol paper with a smooth surface that is particularly well suited to illustration and detailed drawing. The range also includes watercolour pads for painting with water-based colours. In addition, Dekorima offers a variety of painting accessories and tools for artistic work.
