Liquitex

In 1955, Henry Levinson, a chemist who lived for artist colours, perfected the recipe of a water based acrylic paint. That was the beginning of a new era and the beginning of the acrylic paint that we know of today. Henry tried to come up with a name that could describe the medium in the best way, describing that it could go from being floating liquid into being a heavy texture. He called his product “liquid texture”, or Liquitex.

It is safe to say that, without Liquitex and the acrylic paint, the 20th century would be a lot different.
